Back to December

This last month has been a whirlwind. The first half was filled with baking, assembling Christmas cards, neighbor gifts, and teacher gifts, Neve being sick twice and preparing for our cross country trip to see family. The second half was filled with hosting our family's Christmas Eve party at my Dad's home, Christmas morning and then illness the rest of the trip.

We arrived home on the last day of December at 2 AM. That afternoon we enjoyed a visit to the Botanical Gardens at the Smithsonian in DC. That evening we threw together a quick small New Year's Eve party for Dane and Neve, just in time to roll in the New Year with London at 7 PM. Now here it is January. My house looks like December. I finally have the time to enjoy it. So I am not going to let the calendar hold me hostage. The next few days I will be going back to December.

Our 4:00 AM drive to the airport.

Hours after landing, we joined Nana and Aunt Becca
(Who happened to be in town for one day-we missed you Papa)
at the fun house for what else-fun.

Dane surrendered at dinner at 9:45 DC time.
Only to awake and resist sleep at the hotel with Nana and Aunt Becca.

My favorite part of the gardens(besides the obvious beauty),
the warm humidity especially compared to the cold humid air outside.
