A Simply Sweet Morning

Today started off as an ordinary Friday.  I wanted to stay in my warm home. Clean the house in my sweats with the gloomy overcast weather outside, after yesterday's rainstorm.  I did need to run some errands though. After a half an hour battle in my brain, I told Neve to get dressed we were going out. Neve always ready for an adventure was dressed in minutes. Once we arrived in Old Town Alexandria, she turned on her charm and made what was supposed to be an ordinary Friday a memorable one.

We parked near the river sparking Neve's interest in going to see the boats on the Potomac.  Seeing as the river continued over the board walk and up and onto Union street making Starbucks the new board walk, we went to see Starbucks instead. Neve of course wanted to jump in the puddle called the intersection of King and Union.  Since it would have been considered swimming instead of puddle jumping I sadly said no.

Instead we jumped into Paper Source and we browsed to our hearts contents. Meanwhile Neve had a tea party with the stuffed animals at a nearby table.

Next we jumped over to the Lavendar Cupcakery for some gluten free cupcakes.  Chocolate on chocolate.  So yummy.  I should have taken the time to sit and eat them in their adorable shop, because now I have chocolate frosting all over my back seat. Let's just say it wasn't me.

Our next jump was over to a clothing store to browse for swimming suits. There was a puddle pool down the street after all. While I ran around looking, Neve made small talk with the little girl mannequins. She kindly said "Hello" and started to dish over what they were all wearing as she modeled her outfit for them.  Wish I would have had my camera to video the conversation.  Neve's so charming she warmed the hearts of the mannequins who waved goodbye as we rushed out to the car to avoid a ticket as the parking meter ran out.

Overall it was a impromptu simple sweet morning with a simply sweet little girl that I had to record. So one day when she prefers to shop with her girlfriends over me, I can remember that she was once all mine and it was fabulous!

Doesn't happen often in life, so I had to revel in it for a moment before the whining and fighting between Dane and Neve started up. : )
